SCJA and SCJP
I have been programming in Java for many years and have no qualifications in java so I want to try and get certified.
Looking at the main page on the sun site of the Sun Java certification page it seems to me that you need to do the SCJP before you can do SCJD. There is a arrow there, indicating that, you need to do the SCJP first. However with the SCJA, although in the diagram there it is below the SCJP there is no arrow linking it the SCJP so is doing the SCJA optional.
In anycase id like to take the SCJA and SCJP with a view to doing the SCJD. Can anyone recomend any good books to help me through these?
TIA
Dale

Hi,
As you have said that you have been programming java for a long time, you need to just practise question and in case you do a mistake then refer that particular section. There is a popular book from Khalid and Moughal for SCJP certification which probably everyone reads. I would also suggest you to go thru this book. Yes you can directly go for SCJP and then developers exams.
Thanks.
As far as SCJA Goes, the two books you need if you want to pass on the first try is the SCJA Study Guide and the SCJA Questions Book from http://www.scja.com If you get those two resources, you'll ace the exam.
There are a few free mock exams for SCJA on their simulator site:

Good luck!
