Error when loading java spades applet

I updated the new java now i can't play spades.

I am unable to uninstall java and reinstall because it was originally installed under a user that has since been deleted from my computer.

Is there anything I can do? I am able to play other games online like gin in yahoo but the spades applet will not load. I have went and made sure that the settings are set to use browser.

I am just not sure what else to do can you please help me?

My husband had this problem before and I uninstalled and reinstalled for him and it worked. However this seems to not be an option for me because of the user problem.

This is what I get in the Java Console.

I'm having this same issue. I notice lots of posts over this weekend. I'm using the latest version of Sun Java (5.0 Update 10) and I have IE7. None of the suggestions that I've researched on Yahoo, or SunJava work. I can load other Yahoo Games, but no spades and I get the Red X. When someone figures this out, please respond.

Here is hopefully a solution:

Good Luck All.........................................

To make sure that all the Java Script settings on your Internet

Explorer browser are configured correctly so it can load Yahoo! Games from the

servers, please follow the steps below:

1. Launch your Internet Explorer browser.

2. Click on the [Tools] menu located at the top part of the window.

3. Click on the [Internet Options] option.

4. Click on the [Security] tab.

5. Click on the [Custom Level] button.

6. Configure the six categories by following the directions below:

a. Active X Controls and Plug-ins ? Enable [Download signed

Active], [Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins], and [Script ActiveX controls

marked safe for scripting].

b. Downloads -- Enable [File Download].

c. Miscellaneous -- Set [Software Channel] to Medium.

d. Scripting -- Enable all options in this category.

e. Skip the last category

7. Click on [OK].

8. Click on the [Connections] tab.

9. Under the [Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings] section

select the [Never dial a connection] option.

10. Click on the [LAN Settings] button.

11. Make sure that all the boxes in the Local Area Network (LAN)

Settings window are not checked and then click on [OK].

12. Click on the [Advanced] tab.

13. Locate the Browsing category.

14. Check the following option:

a. Disable script debugging.

15. Uncheck the following options:

a. Display a notification about every script error.

b. Reuse windows for launching shortcuts.

16. Click on [Apply].

17. Select the [General] tab.

18. Click on the [Settings] button located in the Temporary Internet

Files category.

19. Click on the option marked [Every visit to the page].

20. Click on [OK].

21. Click on the [Delete Cookies] button, and then click on [OK].

22. Click on the [Delete Files] button, and then please put a check

mark in the box that says [Delete all offline content]. Click on [OK]

afterwards.

23. Click on the [Apply] button and then click on [OK].

In addition, please download the latest plug-ins for the Java Script in

your computer by going to the help site below. Click on the [Sun's

Java plug-in] link found at the end of the article.
