High value for RSS /VSS in HPUnix for Java 1.5

When we run our application inHP unix withjava 1.4 we found RSS/VSS usage as63/203mb through glance tool.But same application when we run withJava 1.5 it is showing163/1.15gb at the starting it self.Could anybody tell us why this huge difference beween these two java releases.
