Certification question

Hi,

I have some basic knowledge of Java. Now I am planning to work on Java certifications. I can see that on Sun web site there are 4 different levels of Java certifications. SCJA is clear to me; however, I have confusion about SCJP. In that section there four different exams mentioned. Would any body explain how different those exams are? Also what would be the best choice under different scenarios?

Thanks in advance.

Read each Exam, Sun lists what is included on each one.

Basically, there are levels of understanding - thus the associate-level (i.e. 2-year degree), the professional-level (4-year degree), and there are senior-levels (6-year degree).

In each level, a person is expected to have knowledge in certain areas, to a certain depth, and with experiance knows what the best practice is. This not only involves the design of software, but troubleshooting and optimizing code for various platforms. The higher the exam level, the more in-depth, the more is expected of a person.
