Thread Locking
I'd like to see the server "lock" threads for 'n' minutes when someone replies so they can place their post in the logical position it should be. If a post is not made within 'n' minutes, the thread is released and someone else can post a reply.
N could be 120 seconds, sounds nice.

Beside the fact that I don't see a real advantage in such a feature, it could also be misused to lock threads for a long time.
People should learn to quote properly, IMHO.
I was writting to help solve a somewhat complex issue, and someone else posted in-between my posts. The last post was some of the answer that was more throughly written by me. I feel jipped.
They could implement "position" fields in the reply so that a person who clicks first, gets a reply page that includes the position for which it should be in, and anyone else clicking after will get the next position down and so forth.
No locking of the thread while preserving the logical structure.

Why is the position important? You could also misuse that feature. Just open two browsers, read in one, post in the other.
Kaj

WTJ, did you know that there's an Edit Post feature now?
Yes, though it is diabled after 'n' minutes.

I don't see the point to this at all.

Who remembers the 'ol Watercooler topic? Only those of us that were founding members - way way back. Yes, I know it says I registered in 2002, but I had a different user name back then, I forgot my login, and apparently used a different e-mail address so no good on getting my pw reset.
