Controling a group of computers

I just want to find out if is it possible to control a group of computers in the same network using one mechine thatt is not a server just a workstation. If possible can you help!!!!
I need more info to be able to help. What do you mean exactly by "one machine that's not a server"? And yes it's possible to control few machines on the same network. Still I need more details about this ? What are you trying to do exactly ?
