Java 5.0 installation problem?

I recently downloaded Java 5.0. When attempting to install the program, I am getting a window which says: "This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor."

Has anyone experienced this? If so, what can be done to successfully install the program.

Thank you.

Well make sure you're getting the correct one. If you have a 32 bit processor you need the 32 bit one...not the 64 bit one.

My processor is an AMD Athlon XP 2400 plus. I'm not sure if it is a 32 or 64 bit. Perhaps you know which one it is?

If you tried to install the 64bit thing and that didn't work, your processor is probably 32bit and vice versa, no?

That's 32. How about you just intall the 32 bit version. Even if you ahve a 64 bit processor the 32 bit one will work.
