extending component in netbeans

I want to use a myComponent in netbeans as well as a Swing component, i.e. adding by palette, set his properties in his properties window, and so on..Is it possible? (i really hope yes)

Pardon? What's a myComponent, and what's a palette?do you mean you want to add a custom component to the GUI designer? You might want to ask at a Netbeans forum or newsgroup for that I'd say.
