problem with Websphere portal 5.1 server
Hi All,
1)I have installed portal 5.1 server in my machine . When I am trying to create new portlet or Portal project if I select target server as Portal 5.1 , its saying that targeted server is not supported for this application. How can I resolve this problem?
2) When I select portal 5.0 server as target its working fine. There when I try to run on Portal 5.1 Test EnvironmentI have to configure this server settings everytime when I changed workspace. How can I overcome this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Rajendra.
hello,
what tool are you using to create your portlets? wasd ? rad ? PortalToolkit?
1) anyway some ideas to search: your portal project is certainly integrated in an enterprise application project whose j2ee level does not match the ones supported by wps 5.1
2) i guess you are using wsad, aren't you. that's the way it works. wsad manages test environment configurations by workspace. if you migrate to rad, it's different. you can share test environment configurations between workspaces. the WSAD approach is more flexible because you can tune your test confi depending on your needs, that is sometime very cool.
hope my remarks helped you
Marc
Hi Marc ,
1) I am using RAD. How can we share configurations between workspaces?
2) I am able to run using Portal 5.1 Test Env server after creating Portlets or Portals. But when I create Portlet application we have to give target server , at that place I can't select Portal 5.1 Server. I am getting message like " Target server is not supported" even I am using simple application.
Give me suggesions.
Thanks,
Rajendra.
for point 1, I am not using RAD since a few months so it's going to be hard to tell you how to share the configs. you should have clues in the redbook (don't have the redbook reference any more neither, sorry about that)
for point 2, i think it's a matter of servlet level. Could you make a screen capture of the dialog box where we define the target server and send it to me (guerrinm@yahoo.fr). I'll see if it refreshes my memory, because I already have that problem.
