A "flat" file is simply a text file which contains data that is pre-formatted in some way, usually in fixed-width columns. It is not self-describing, which means that if you want to know how many columns it has and what the widths of those columns are, you must get that data from somewhere else.

& " plz reply immdtly " is not so big deal. Its todays need. You can see such words on the internet every where. Todays world is changing, so fas !! t. New technologies are coming , people coming near to each other. In such circumstances if u r just pointing out such words ( ie mistake). I think its not good way.

I am going to tell you this for the last time, mainly because for a little while you were mildly entertaining in your upset but frankly you're just boring now, the problem here is you.

You consistently use SMS and imply a great sense of urgency with your posts and both of these are annoying to read. Since the posts here are replied to by volunteers (again nobody is being paid to respond to any post of yours) it is in YOUR best interest to make your posts not annoying. Or at least less so.

It is not appropriate for you to then turn around and lecture other posters on their manner or behaviour. Especially when on top of showing a goodly amount of illiteracy you also seem in over your head with regards to your work. You should be grateful that people have taken the time to respond to your posts. You're never grateful you're just rude and continually annoying.

Last but not least my confused friend it does not take "guts" to threaten someone (or whatever it is that you want to do) in a chat. It does not take "guts" to continue in a flame war on the internet. I will not be taking you up on your chat invitation because you are an illiterate fool and continuing to waste time on you serves no purpose whatsoever.

I leave you with the following words of advice. Please really reconsider your policies (re: SMS and just generally carrying on like an annoying idiot) if you want to seek further help here. People are not interested in helping those who ask confused questions with poor language and annoying terms and then are rude to top it off.

But I know that its text file & some times we can use binary file. It is used to store data.

Foget about cotton. I don't necessarily agree with the tone of some of his responses, or the words he used, but then, I've said far worse myself when someone has annoyed me.

All you should be worrying about is how to get your question answered. If you find cotton or anybody else annoying, then ignore them. Forget who was right, forget your pride, and worry about the matter at hand.

If you post your question clearly and politely, then maybe somebody will help you.

If I havent replayed to Cotton.M How come he was using such words.

I think I got angry because of that.

Have you heard the phrase "The pot calling the kettle black". You are upset at the use of swear words by cotton and yet you use them freely yourself as well as calling into question his sexual preference.

Despite numerous pleas by several people to use proper words you persist in using hv instead of have, u instead of you etc.

I will not be helping you. However, I would suggest to you that if you do want more help than DrClap and I have provided thus far you need to a ask a better question. It is not at all clear what your problem is other than "something to do with flat files". I am telling you this because the status of your question currently means that even if I wanted or was going to help you I couldn't.

Try asking a specific question or providing a code sample of where you are getting stuck or something like that. Try asking a question without using the words "flat file".

Just to clarify. I am not annoyed at you right? You know this I think. Just checking. I added the good luck mainly because my last post seemed too terse otherwise and partially because I don't know that even the advice is going to go over all that well.
