Java will not install plz help!!

I tried to download Java 5.0 Update 8 and then I got a message:

"Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package."

Then its installed on my computer but won't work. Then I have to uninstall it then try again to get the same message.

Please Help!! What should I do?
