SIM support?

Hi all,

I'm a new comer to Java Card technology. My question is,

1. how can i verify that a particular SIM card supports Java Card technolgy?

2. Also, is there a way to download applets to my mobile phone's SIM card? (like with j2me) ?

- sorry about asking poor questions but please drop some words.

Thanks.

- Send an email to the SIM Card manufacturers to ask if they do put a JVM on the card. That's one way. Unless you are working through a company that has an alliance with them they won't bother to reply.

-The SIM Card world is kinda stingy. Information is not easily passed down.

-The SIM Card is a trusted environment and cannot be accessed with obtaining 'keysets' from the SIM Card manufacturer. One cannot obtain these unless you can convince the SIM card manufacturers.

-If you do obtain the keysets 'somehow'; yes, you can manufacture card applets that could be downloaded to the SIM Card. (assuming that the card supports a JVM, JCRE and the handset supports SAT - SIM Application Toolkit)

-Look into Phase2+ SIM ME
