Cannot Download Java

Here's my problem. Months ago I removed my Java Virtual Machine and every Java program in my add/remove programs list. I was having trouble with a fantasy football website called www.sportsline.com/fantasy. It has a Java heavy page that refreshes live scores from the football games on Sunday. But my computer kept freezing and I couldn't update my Java for some reason. So I removed the Java programs.

Now whenever I try to download Java I get an error saying" Could not create the Java Virtual Machine"

The website still does not work.

I am using Internet Explorer 6, SP2.

Please help me.

"the java runtime environment cannot be loaded" is the other error message. And it's a Java Plug-In Fatal Error.

Even when Uninstall I get an error that reads: "Bad installation. No JRE found in configuration file. And that is a Java Web Start 1.5.0_06.

Any idea what I could do?

I have two hard drives. My "C" hard drive is full to capacity and that's where my windows software is downloaded. My "other" hard drive has space.

Does Java need to be downloaded on the same drive (primary drive) that Windows is downloaded on? Or can't I jjust download it to my Other drive.

I really need java on my computer and I would love if someone could stear me in the right direction.

Looking to free up space on the C drive then try to download again. But I am thinking free disk space isn't the issue.

please help?

Unfortunately, these errors can result from any number of problems. Try the search list below, and search Google for the other messages - maybe you'll see something that makes sense. http://www.google.com/search?q=Bad+installation.+No+JRE+found+in+configuration+file

Java prepares to install and then a box comes up and says "This installation package could not be opened - verify that the package exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor and verify that this is valid Windows installer package". Java was installed on my Dell computer when I received it in May 2006. When I ran a PC check on my computer it tells me to update Java but so far I keep getting the same message as above. Can anyone help me? Thanks

What is a "PC check" and what does it do?

So, what - specifically, and in detail - have you done? Have you tried to update Java? From where, and how?
