Java programs freeze and crash constantly, please assist

Hi. I use several Java programs, one that simulates a board game called Blood Bowl and Limewire. While using either of these programs, my computer tends to freeze and crash, with no former warning. I have reformatted my hard drive twice, reinstalled Java and the programs, and tried countless other little ideas or fixes that didn't pan out. I use JRE 5.0 Update 7 and am running on Windows XP Media Center Edition. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since almost no other Java users have these problems, and you presumably have eliminated any hardware and installation concerns (?) - I tend to suspect the applications you use as the cause of the problems. You probably would have better luck posting with the application sites, not here.

It may be a compatibility problem between the applications and your os, Media Center is not very common. The app developers may not have tested on Media Center, might be worth a check.
