Display errors when java loads

Hi, I'm having display trouble when running JRE that I'm hoping someone can help me with.

When I enter a web page containing a Java applet, Java automatically starts but when it does, the screen goes blank for half a second and then refreshes but not all items on the screen are refreshed and there are large blank areas some of which are refreshed when I run the mouse cursor over them. Some applets load and can be seen correctly while others cannot. When I open the Java Console window from either within IE or from the control panel, again the screen goes blank for half a second before refreshing and again not all is refreshed and I can't see any information in the console window. I have the same problem in both IE and Firefox.

I've downloaded another copy of the latest JRE and installed it, no good. I've loaded an older version of JRE and installed it, no good. I've tried changing the screen resolution configuration, no good. I've tried turning off the JRE to use the Microsft VM, no good.

Does anyone have any thoughts that may help with this problem?

Probably involves a video driver problem. Check for a later version of your driver. There are also posts in the forums (search for them) that have information on disabling video speedup features that don't work correctly for certain braindead drivers.
