Just another World Cup Thread

Is a new favorite team coming?

Germany is simply playing their most beautiful football untill now, against Sweden. It is really a "joga bonito" way of playing...

I do not know why Klinsmann and his German team was so criticized before the beginning of this World Cup, in his own country!

There are things that I will never understand in the world of soccer...

backgammon is a Turkish game. dont believe that it is greek.

baklava, gyro(doner) are also turkish and greek say they are ours.

goto germany and see for ourself :)

anyways every turkish help you with backgammon :-)

you gotta know how to roll the dice ;-)

germany-italy-england-brazil are my final 4

my previous final four is not valid due to schedule of games :(

Italy? England? My first thought was "No way."

Then I looked at the brackets and saw that Spain will have to get through Brazil, and Argentina will have to play Germany. I like Argentina to beat Germany, and I think Portugal will take it to England.

Who WILL beat Italy? Perhaps Ukraine. Perhaps not.

I'm guessing Argentina, Italy, Portugal, and Brazil. I think Argentina will beat Brazil in a brilliant final.

I don磘 know....perhaps backgammon is older than anyone could think:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backgammon

Anyway, I know that Wikipedia is not a good and reliable source at all, for any kind of research.

Well, controlling the dices is difficult when you play backgammon on internet, with electronic dices...;-)

I turned on Mexico-Argentina and almost had a heart attack - Mexico was ahead 1-0, and they were only 6 minutes in! Crespo tied it, but Argentina almost gave away another goal just before halftime. What a game!%

The last goal of Argentina, in 92?minute more or less, was valid. The player was not in offside position. Argentina didn磘 win before the 30 aditional minutes only because of the "excelent work" of the referee and his assistant referees.

What a bad referee! He is the worst, untill now.

I saw the match. The Swedish team played really bad, we didn't deserve to advance.

Btw. I didn't see Dutch match, but I read about it. Was it really that awful?

Worse; I only saw the second half but I found it a terrible match.

Non of the parties were good sports: neither the Portugese for

simulating dramatic Swan Lake like lethal injuries, nor the Dutch

for provoking their opponents and nor the referee who was spraying

yellow and red cards all over the place.

This morning I read in the newspaper that they played hardly 22

minutes in the second half; the other 23 minutes were ruined by

both teams, disccussing, fighting, simulating, provoking etc. etc.

kind regards,

Jos

The Dutch were diving IMO more than the Portuguese. I couldn't believe it the one time Robben picked himself up from the ground without appealing for a free kick.
