Not a developer, but not a fool, either...Question...please...
How does an individual best protect themselves, when online ...participating in a Java environment (gamesite...in this case)...from non-site origination...actions/commands (i'm talking about game participants that are manipulating the site) ?....
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and i feel that there is no integrity left to be found in online gaming...if there are no ways to defend...ulterior actions.
Please respond in Genuiness, as this question, is a genuine one...)))

You will need to be more explicit as to what form of abuse is (or you think) taking place.

I play online Bridge but I don't play for money. If money is involved then someone will always try to cheat. I always act on the assumption that sites (not just ones using Java) have serious security flaws so I don't play online for real money.
Sabre...i never play for money.....never have...never will. I perfectly understand and appreciate....both your admonitions, and the simple reasons...Why.
I love to play spades, an consider myself quite good. I play at a site known as IWin.com...that to me...is thraught with Java manipulators. Their primary tactic is to somehow disrupt the data flow, force a discionnect upon me, and then manipulate gamesite graphics while i'm trying to re-connect, that state i resigned. It's pure external input,...from known players...that are capable of doing this. I merely desire to shield myself, not ever retribute.
As a Bridge Player...i hope you can relate, and offer some good advice.

Not being a hacker I don't know how this could be done.

I doubt if you could protect yourself because if what you say is true it sounds like a 'man in the middle' attack so the server has the security problem, not you.
Have you reported the problem through the site 'abuse' feedback.
