Best order determination

Is there some good method for determining the best order of items (without checking all combinations of course). I am using Taguchi method for checking several factors against several levels. But I would like to check several factors in different orders (of course, with the least number of combinations ...).

The best order is 1 2 3 4 5.1, 2, 3, 4, 5!? That's the same combination on my luggage!

I didn't quite understood what you wrote ...

Example:

I have five questions. for each order of question I can know a number indicating the success of that combination. I want to check what is the best combination over time, but without checking all the combinations. Same as Taguchi method does for factors and levels without checking all combinations.
