Error installing app server 8

Hi, Looking For Help with the following instalation error.

I have the following:

Using MS XP SP2 - latest updates,

Installed J2SDK 1.4.2 latest version of Java SDK

Need to install Java Application Server Platform Edition v8.0 (I know its not the latest version, but I need to install it because it has pointbase bundleded with it - need this exact version for school work i am doing) - filename is sjsas_pe-8_1_02_2005Q2-windows.exe, if that helps...

I had previosly installed the lastest version 8.2 (i think) then had to uninstall it because I found out latter I needed an earlier version.

I try to install to the default directory C:\Sun\AppServer (i dont want to install it anywhere else). The installer says "Existing Installation Detected", and either "Select New" (directory to install to), or "Continue". I am confused as to why it says that I have an existing installation, because I uninstalled the v8.2 correctly/safely. I continue with the installation of v8.0.

It detects the SDK v1.4.2 correctly.

I provide default information for the ports, and set a password.

Installation options I leave as default.

Then I hit "Install Now".

The error I recieve occurs almost immediatly. the log is such:

"ERROR - The following exception occured while merging jar files: The system cannot find the path specified

INFO - Start samples uninstallation.

INFO - End samples uninstallation.

INFO - Start core server uninstallation

INFO - End core server uninstallation

INFO - Start PointBase uninstallation

INFO - End PointBase uninstallation

INFO - Start Sun Java System Message Queue uninstallation

INFO - End Sun Java System Message Queue uninstallation

INFO - Start samples uninstallation.

INFO - End samples uninstallation.

INFO - Start core server uninstallation

INFO - End core server uninstallation"

How can I resolve this problem? I don't want to have to format my hard drive.

Thanks all!
