doubt about stax

Hai I want to know whether it is possible to validate a document as it is being builtusing the stax api .We can validate a Document object before transforming it into an xml file using DOM.Is a similar approach possible in stax ?Thanks in advance
Validating STAX parsers do exist. I just verified that with a 30-second Google search.
