White screen and a little square with a red square, a green circle and a bl

ue triangle in top left of the page. Can't use Java applets anymore that is what appears on screen. Anyone has some ideas to solve my problem? I have the last updates of Java. For example, I get this when I try to use the chessbase database at www.chesslive.de.

Best regards,

Bobby

Based on how you solved the "problem" of running out of room in the subject line by just continuing on in the message area I have to tell you it seems unlikely that you will be able to resolve this issue on your own.

The bottom line is that your Java installation is gone, corrupted, disabled or something. It is impossible to tell from your description exactly what the problem is.

I recommend you take your computer in to a local repair shop and have them isolate the problem and fix it.

That's all what you've got to say? Are you crazy? I'm not gonna bring my computer to a repair shop for that and I'll continue to search for a way to solve this problem! If someone else can help I'll thank you in advance.Best regards, Bobby

Huh? There's no way the problem could be solved without access to your computer. Don't you have a tech-savvy friend or something?

oh well, let's have a go anyway

can you post the address of a web page that doesn't work for you? so that we know the problem is indeed with your computer and not the web page.

which browser do you use?

Nice.

Bobby, here's the thing. I don't know what is wrong with your computer but more importantly neither do you. I could fix my computer. Can you fix yours?

You asked this question on a site for Java developers. This is not a helpdesk for every computer problem you are experiencing.

Dear scsi-boy,

If you don't know what is wrong with my computer just shut up your mouth and don't read my post. To anyone else, I have check my Java version and it says I have that Java Runtime Vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.

Java Runtime Version 1.5.0_06

. Secondly, I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0. Thirdly, the problem is new before I didn't have that I don't know what I did but now I can't use the applet at www.chesslive.de.

Best regards,

Bobby

*sigh* I guess that applies to everyone on this board, as no one can have any idea why your computer doesn't work. I wish you luck getting free expert help with that attitude.

I don't think that no one knows what is wrong with my Java. A decent expert can guess what's wrong with it but it seems that there's no one for that around here. I'll post somewhere else.

Best regards,

Bobby

P.S.: I'm not gonna use another web browser I don't think this will solve the problem.
