how to get the value from the readonly field?

HI All,

I havedate field and specified it as"readonly".

but in action when i am trying to get the value of thisdate field it return NULL.

if the fields is not readonly then i can get the value.

how to solve this issue.

i need to set date field as readonly and i need to get value also.
