I would strongly advice you to completely uninstall JSE/JDK 5.0 UPDATE 6
from you system and install JSE/JDK 5.0 UPDATE 5 or earlier (which you know works with your system)!! There is a major problem with this UPDATE 6 which just came out!! I believe it might be a security related issue! But there is definely a conflict going on with IE 6.0 SP1 and Firefox 1.5!! This update doesn't like something in our operating system!! we have the latest security updates on our computer!!
Abit Motherboard AS8 with audio cardand network card enabled. Windows 2k sp4 with rollup update 1 v.2 and a hardware firewall installed!!
Our audio card screams when you go to some sites that have audiostreaming plugin on there site which uses javascript to play!! I AM NOW USING JSE 5.0 UPDATE 5 and it works great!!
IE crashes and Mozilla Firefox 1.5 crashes!! I told Sun Systems about Update 6 and haven't gotten a reply from them yet!!
maybe i have the motherboard you're telling....
but before upgrading everything worked porperly....
when i started to uninstall, install, manual install, automaticinstall ecc ecc i tryed to reinstall old versions too, but the problem with ie still existed... so i think i have something corrupted in ie, do you think is possible?
What operating system do you have?
The problem I had with JSE 1.5 Update 6 was on a W2k Pro Sp4 rollup 1 v.2
operating system!
The W2k XP machines seems to not have this problem but I may be wrong!
I did notice that IE 6.0 SP1 has 3 objects (plugins) installed and not 2 objects like previous versions of JSE/JDK had? This might be the problem?
I'm currently have now JSE 5.0 UPDATE 5 on our system with out any problems!!
I've been recommending folks who are having problems to migrate back to JSE/JDK 5.0 UPDATE 5 or earlier because of the problems with the UPDATE 6!!
SMILE!!
1. Remove all java in the control panel such as your JRE or JDKs
2. Remove the MSJVM (Now unsupported Java)
From the Start menu, select Run.
Enter the command
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection java.inf,UnInstall then reboot after removing the java.
3. Remove the key below with regedit

4. Install your new java JRE or JDKs
