Illegal system DLL Relocation

Good afternoon, Javapeople.

I spent several frustrating hours this morning trying to load JRE on to my computer, which runs Windows XP Home. Each attempt was blocked with a message that the download was rejected because it wanted to use a DLL address reserved for Windows systems DLL. The message advise me to contact the vendor for a new DLL.

The address it was trying to use was:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\KERNEL32.dll.

I tried the automatic download and the manual, online and offline - that tied the computer up for four and a half hours for no result. Any help would be appreciated.
