Problem linking Apache Tomcat server and JRE

I am working on Suse 9.2.I have Tomcat server and i can find jre also.But i find it difficult to link both of these.I think only when they are linked it is possible to start Apache Tomcat server,so could anyonehelp me to solve this issue?-Jegan
You should be able to start Tomcat without Apache running, I do it all the time.For installing Tomcat as an Apache plugin read the Tomcat installation instructions.It's rather straightforward but does require some editing of configuration files.

Thanks JWenting. I tried to shutdown and restart tomcat server in the path /usr/share/tomcat5/bin and it worked.I didn't know that Apache server was running at the same time.Both Apache and Jakarta Tomcat Apache is running together . -Jegan
