Help with a JAVA download

I have a user whom we are trying to download JAVA to his machine. When it tries to install I get a 1708 error that it cannot find a file and it is looking for the file in a folder for IE 5.5 - He is currently on IE 6.0 so this folder does not exist. Has anyone seen this and can you help?
