Java Comm Need Help!!!
Gud day... i just wanna ask regarding java communications or the package javax.comm... i downloaded, installed, and tried the sample from the PDF file included in the java comm download... i was able to use the javax.com package and compiled the sample program successfully. The problem is that... there are NO ports identified by the port identifier. I am only running on a intel celeron 500Mhz (winXP pro) unit and using J2SDK1.4 version. i am doing parallel port programming in VB and C++ before and it works fine... i just want to know what the problem is. It is pointed in the *.properties file included in the download that the default driver=com.sun.comm.Win32Driver something.... pls help me with this one... i badly need it in my project....
please mail me also in khickyphutz@gmail.com regarding with this problem... thanx a lot
yaps i already enabled the ports from the BIOS setup... i've been using the unit to create programs for parallel port but with Win98SE, VB, and C++.
Now i am running WinXP... i am just wandering if the problem is my WinXP. There might be some settings needed for me to see my ports. Have u tried using WinXP in developing Java Comm Programs?
Thanx a lot... take care and godbless... hope to hear from u again soon....
Yaps I already followed the instructions given in the installers. put the Jar file, properties file, and win32comm.dll file.
Have you tried using winxp in developing comm programs? ive tried creating C++,VB parallel port interfacing programs with the same hardware and bios setting before but with Win98SE. Now, i am using WinXP OS and i am wandering if the problem is WinXP Security issues coz i encountered a problem in C++ WinXP parallel port programming before due to insufficient priviledge.
hope you guys can help me with this one. Many of my fellow engineering students as well as our teachers really wanted to use Java for interfacing programs but the problem is HOW.
Thank you so much for your help guys and take care always and godbless hope to hear from you guys soon.... more power
