HELP please Sorry I know NOTHING of java

hey, I don't know anything really about java and even less about java script. i have webcam xp, and it was working for about a month, (it runs on java) but suddenly yesterday it will load from within the network (behind a router) but not from outside. Yesterday 15 people used my webcam server to see videos i produced and songs i recorded and wathced me on cam. A friend attempted to help me configure my cam to use js instead, and it just woudlnt work, so i got stupid and made some alterations with things i know nothing about, like in control panel the java icon , i changed the network settings, and im not sure rather it should be set to direct or set to browser settings, the reason i was doing this was 2 reasons, to make the cam page more dynamic by using js, (i just copy the source from my webcamxp software) and i wanted to make my cam page viewable on mozilla and other browsers, as it was only working externally on IE, which many of my friends dont use. Anyway, those were the only alterations i have made that i can recall, and today it wont work for anyone outside my network, i wasnt sure which forum to put this in. the cam SHOULD be viewable at http://24.88.122.221:8080/thecam.html but wont load, in fact i dont think any of the pages on teh server are running now, try http://24.88.122.221:8080/guitar.html if that doesnt work, imr eally confused, as it doesnt use java, well **** i think it does use tinyplayer, a java applet. um, http://24.88.122.221:8080/2stucco.jpg i know for a fact doesnt use it LOL. So given that information, can someone please give this clueless fool ingisht into his problem? Should i uninstall and reinstall any java files? (i'm not very sure of the difference between jvm and the files in the java folder its version 5 i believe. if that 3rd link (2stucco.jpg) works correctly i'll know for a fact that my problem is a result of alterations made in the java icon in control panel, if it doesn't work, i have a networking error, which i can probably fix on my own. today whlie trouble shooting i added port triggering in addition to port forwarding which i had already, i dunno, i was desparate, so can somebody please tell me something, some cause of this malfunction? i really like unlimited webspace on my static ip. If you need any additional information to help me, i can provide it, ill add a short cut of this to my desktop and check up throughout the day(s) im pretty desparate here. any help is greatly appreciated, thanks a lot. (sorry for possibly posting in the wrong forum and being such a newb)

I recommend that you uninstall the portion of Java that works with your browser and applets, and then do a new install of what was removed.

In Windows Add or Remove Programs, you should see the entry "J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0"

There may also be an entry "J2SE Development Kit 5.0" which can be ignored.

Remove "J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0"

Go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp and click on "Download JRE"

(make sure that you click this , not "Download JDK")

Click through the license and select "Windows Online Installation, Multi-language (jre-1_5_0-windows-i586-iftw.exe, 221.23 KB)"

which will install a replacement for what you removed.
