What are advantages of JDK/JRE 5.0 ?
hello,
at the moment I use J2RE 1.4.2_05 and I plan to update to the new Version 5.0.
What differences (dis-/advantages) will result from this update especially concerning Java WebStart.
I'm not very experienced in this area.
I would like to know what the current situation of development is about.
Is it worth to change over to this "new technology" now or would it be better to wait?
Is the version I can download still a beta-Version including a lot of bugs?
If yes, does anyone know when the final version will come out?

I've no experience in Java&Co, that's why the pages of sun.com are very special for me and don't help me very much.
I work as an intern for a big company and have to show up important points and reasons, why we should update our present Java Platform. Therefore I'm searching for more general informations...

The best way to find information is to search the Internet using your favorite search engine and terms that are meaningful to the information that you need. Most people here don't do extensive searches for you.
Or be very specific re the information that you want to know and post the question here. General questions tend to be answered with general answers.
The Sun pages actually contain information from other industry and publication sources as well as Sun technical and PR documents.
