J2SE 1.4.2 SDK problem (maybe)

I posted a question last week about the J2SE 1.4.2 SDK compiler that I was having trouble with. I was able to get past it and can compile now, though there seems to be another trouble I'm having. Having purchased a CBT Java 2 class from Learnkey and going through the sample programs they provided, I tried compiling the short program given for using an Applet and compiled it like it was done by the guy from the Learnkey class. He compiled it and then ran 'appletviewer' on the resulting .htm file, but looking in my own directory, there was no .htm file to use. I don't know if there's something missing, or something else I need to download and execute.

As long as you are following the CBT course that you have, we can't help you very much, since we don't know what instructions you're getting. If you want help from the forums you're better off following something like the Java Tutorial that we can see and follow along with you.

In your prior post I referred you to the Java Tutorial http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/getStarted/cupojava/win32.html

Please go there and click on "Creating Your First Applet" and follow the instructions there, which include creating the HTML file.
