mailx not sending mails?
hi
on a solaris sparc 9 environmentmailx command is unable to send mails to the outside world. What could be the reason & needs to be checked?

Is sendmail running. Unfortunately sendmail needs to be running to be able to send or receive mail.
There are tricks you can play to stop it receiving though. But it still needs to be running.
