Patch releases

I have a bug in SunStudio12...

http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6547609

.. that the fix has been identified but now I must wait for the patch.

Is there anyway of knowing when the patch may be released and where is the place that I will first be able to access it.

Thanks, Rob.

I can' tell exact date, but I'm sure all patches will be listed on this page:

http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/patches/index.jsp

If you are on Solaris and used installer rather than .tar to install Sun Studio, smpatch(1M) should pick all necessary patches as soon as they are available.

A first patch is coming out of the door right away, but it will not contain a fix for your problem, which is marked as "fix in progress".

As Maxim told, there will be a link on a patch page.

You can also manually go search for Solaris patches on sunsolve.sun.com.

Thanks for the info. I guess if it's still "fix in progress" I won't see a patch within the next six weeks.

This is something I was hoping to get corrected in time for the end of the Google Summer of Code (Aug 31st) as it's supporting one of the OpenSolaris projects.

Cheers, Rob.
