Problem installing solaris on laptop with intel 965 graphics card
Unable to start X. Went through the text-based installation, everything else went
okay. After installation when booting, X windows start failed again and complained
about vesa driver. Build: SXDE build 64a. Machine: dell latitude D630 with intel 965
integrated graphics. Wondering if some patch needs to be installed? Any help appreciated.

Most liekely, that there is no display driver for your computer.
Maybe it will work with xsun, run kdmconfig.

Not sure how different DM 630 is difffernet from DM620. But I thought we i965 was supported. However check out this blog.

I think i965 may have been integrated in a later build

Thanks for the suggestion. Running kdmconfig to choose xsun instead of
xorg worked - I have CDE working now. Will try installing a later build
(65 or 66) and see how that goes as well.

I have now installed Solaris Community Express bld 68 and the installation
went just fine - Xorg is working right from the start and I have both gnome
and CDE working fine. Only thing I would like to improve now is the
1024x768 resolution - playing with xorgconfig now. But I can live with this,
wireless (intel 3945) seemed to work right away. Everyting looks good so far.
Thanks for the suggestions.
