cd ejects automatically

hi all,

i have installed solaris 10 on my intel pc.

everything is fine instead my cd samsung make cd writer i am not able to mount.

whenever i put a cd into it and loads the tray. it ejects automatically after 3 seconds.

i treid stopping vold. and manually mounting cd rom but it did not help.

when i stop vold, cd isnt automatically eject.

automatic eject happens only when vold is running.

do anybody know about this problem, is there any specific patch for vold

pls. help out..

I haven't seen anyone describe that behaviour since 2004.

... and that was for the Beta-72 pre-release distro of Solaris 10x86.

It was a Beta and still had bugs in it.

All "real" releases of Sol-10, since General Availability of March 2005, behaved properly.

Try the tip in this forum thread that was started in December 2004:

It fixed the issue for me (when I had installed the beta distro).

Haven't needed to use it since installing legitimate releases of the OS.
