Problems installing Solaris 10/11 on Dell XPS210
Hi,
I have recently acquired a Dell XPS210 desktop machine on which I was hoping to make a contribution to the OpenSolaris community. I have spent 5 days trying to install 4 different flavours of Solaris, all to no avail. These are:
Solaris Express Community Edition v11 build 67
Solaris Express Community Edition v11 build 66
Solaris Express, Developer edition 2/07
Solaris 10 11/06
The Solaris Express Development Edition Install Check (1.1) tool give me the following output which should indicate that I should be able to perform a successful install in console text mode:

check the following web site to ensure you are using the most current version ofthis tool: http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/hcts/install_check_sx.html
With Solaris Express Community Edition 11 build 67, I do the following:
1) Choose the second GRUB option "Solaris Express"
2) Choose option 4 "Solaris Interactive Text (Console session)"
I then get this output:
Using RPC Bootparamsfor network configuration information.
Attempting to configureinterface e1000g0...
Skippedinterface e1000g0
ERROR: Cannot find install software, Exiting to shell

I have tried installing under VMWare Server on a separate machine with the same physical DVD media and get beyond this stage so the DVD I burned looks good.
If anyone know's what's going wrong, I'd love to know! This is getting very frustrating indeed.
Cheers,
Tim
