Adding Flash Player Plugin
Ive tried running the avaliable x86 Flash Player 7 for Mozilla, Ive also tried copying the files to foxfire's plugin directory... neither browsers will display imbeded flash, eich informs me a plugin is still required.
Has anyone had this problem or know a solution to this?
Thanks

all you should have to do is to drop the plugins into the firefox/plugins directory and restart firefox.
Both of those links work for me.
Try using Firefox from the Firefox home page.
What's really neat is that the SUN Desktop Beijing Team has uploaded tarballs and packages for Firefox, Thunderbird and Sunbird to their respective sites so installing the latest is a no-brainer. Flash works under Opera as well.

I just installed Solaris 10 for the first time and ran into this exact issue. I finally realized that when prompted to download the plugin, I was getting the SPARC version instead of x86 (I'm not sure this is your issue to but I thought I would mention it). After I found the right .so to use, it worked.
However, I can not play some movies on the internet and I suspect its because they were created with a newer version of Flash. The Adobe Labs website no longer offers the version 9 beta.
Does anyone know where I can still get it?

you are absolutely right... the link on the adobe page (that detects and says im about to download x86 file) actually is linked to the SPARC file.
i just modified the link the link in my address bar and got it, thankyou :)
Now I read a few places there is an adobe flash player 9 beta available for solaris as well, but all I see are linux downloads. Anyone have that file and willing to share?
