no gui

Hello all,

I have a veryyyy unique problem. I have a laptop with 945gm chip set.

I installed solaris 9 but the gui didnt start, instead it dropped me to console, and no matter how much i tried i couldnt get my x server started.

So i installed solaris 10....but the same problem

I than bought a belenix live cd and it booted up and kde loaded. So i was happy and i installed it to my HD. Now when i try to boot belenix from my HD the same problem occurs and i am not able to start my gui. I am simple stuck in console mode.

plzzz help me out.

Looking forward for your reply,

Try to use xsun. Run kdmconfig.

Your problem is not unique, it is very common, especially with newer display adapters.

Solaris has a very small list of supported display adapters, best solution is to install the supported graphics card.

About belenix, try to apply to http://www.genunix.org/distributions/belenix_site/ they have forum too.

ok....

1. there is no kdmconfig in belenix

2. i have tried switchin to xsin with solaris 10 but it didnt work

3.if the system had loaded the gui with the live cd, it means my graphic adapter is supoorted !!!
