unable to login other then root
when I attempt to login with my account other then root (the graphical login). it goes to that black screen "SunOS Release 5.10 ... and Starting Desktop Login on display :0 Waiting for Desktop Login screen before logging in." It then goes back to the graphical login screen. i can only seem to login with root
people on irc said it had to do with making an account the correct way. I am new to Solaris from Linux. Hopefully I can get this cleared up quickly :)

hi WOP
first glance, it seems, you've created a "non-login" account.
have actually no sol-10 at home (11:40 PM local time), but have you tried the "old fashioned" way:
# useradd -u 7710 -g <group> -G <e.g. other,prog> -d /export/home/jenny -s /usr/bin/ksh -c "Jenny Herself" -m -k /etc/skel -f 60 -e 12/31/09 jenny
after that, you have to run passwd <username>, like written in the blog.
hope, that helps. plz post, if you make progress.
ps: wich kind of lnx? the "hat" or the "chameleon" ? *big_grin* [im courious, i know :-) ]
cheers, jenny

[off-top]
slackware :-)) :-)) tried it some years ago, maybe time to check it out again.
but as we stay relativ near to nuremberg, we're a little bit "bound" to the chameleon. 8.2 and 9.1 were ok, but 10.x ? - mmmmja, ask for nothing, and you'll receive it an abundance ;-) :-))

try it out [i still hang on sol-7 *g*]. wish you a nice day and full sucess, but its time to go to bed.for me ;-)
ps: don't ask, how much i used dictionary at the moment. *g*
cheers, jenny
