Error for command...read sector error? Help, please!
I installed solaris on my x86 machine through the cd downloads online. After the installation, it rebooted and tried to load.
I get this error continuously:

Bad disk drive.Replace it.
If it were a SCSI drive or a FCAL disk, you could boot to single-user mode
from your installation CD's and use format to mark the block(s) as bad.
You can't do that with IDE drives.
Replace it.

bad news: its time to check warranty-status of your drive.
to be 100% sure, that the drive is defective, download the diagnostic sw from the manufacturers homepage.

as the drive is recognized as a generic-ata, the chance for IDE should be >90%.
