Disk image + remot install

hello

I have juste installed Solaris 10, actually i still have solaris 8 in the others station SUN BLIDE 1500.

the last administrator has give me ?procedure to follow for installing ?new SUN station from the other station that store ?disk image in /dump repertorie.

now i want create i image disk for the new station with solaris 10 and i have the procedure somme one can't help me please.

to cearte a disk image(this procedure i didn't test it before):

boot -s or boot cdrom -s i don't know

cd /a/dump

rm -f dump_root dump_var

ufsdump 0f dump_root /a

mount /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s3 /a/var

ufsdump 0f dump_var /a/var

cd /

umount /a/var

ls

To INTALL a new SUN STATION(this procedure work fine i test it):

=boot cdrom 杝

=ifconfig bge0 plumb

=ifconfig bge0 W.X.Y.Z netmask A.A.A.A up (W.X.Y.Z ip of local station, and A.A.A.A subnet)

=cd /tmp

= rcp J.K.L.M:/dump/Install ./ (J.K.L.M : ip of remote adress that store the image disk )

./Install Z nom-machine (Z : regarder les ligne cit閑s ci-dessus)

Hi,I would suggest creating a flash archive instead.On the Sol 10 box: flarcreate ...On the Sol8 box: boot cdrom (and select install from flash)/BR
