Hardware Address error/warning

anyone ever see this during a setup?

WARNING: Hardware address cc:cc:cc:dd:dd:dd trying to be our address 192.168.10.10

I'm setting up a T2000 and going through newtwork setup, but on boot up I get that error/warning.

any thoughts?

That's a network configuration issue.

A generic IP address conflict.

As it states, there's another computer on your subnet that's already using that IP.

A Google search with "hardware address trying to be " keywords gets you 4,180,000+ results on this issue.

Pick a different IP for your new system,

or find that other system and have it use a different IP.

that's what I thought, too, but that IP is not in use.

Your router or DHCP server or jumpstart server may think it's in use, though.

I'd like to suggest you cross-post this to a networking forum, for others to give guidance.

I got it! Not sure exactly what we did, but we got it working now.

Thanks for your help, though!

Just in case someone runs across this, the IP was not in use, but after the network guys gave us the space on the appropriate VLAN we were able to get it going. Not really sure if this was the fix, but it did solve the problem.
