X4100 M2 w/ RHEL 4.5 (4 Update 5) no network

I get no network access on a brand-new freshly installed server. I tried the Intel and NVidia ports (eth0-1 and eth2-3) and get a "Check cable" every time.

Thinking it was a driver issue, I tried to retrieve updates from the Sun Installation Assistant 2.0.134 and get the same network not available situation on all ports. Surely if anything should work it would be the Sun-supplied CD, but it doesn't in this case.

I went though the BIOS and even reloaded the "Optimal default settings", but no luck.

Am I missing anything obvious, or is my next step to call for hardware support?
