Fatal Plug-in Error / Yahoo Games
I use Windows XP Home SP2. When attempting to sign into any Yahoo game room, I get the following: "JAVA (TM) Fatal Error. The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded." A second attempt to sign in results in "Several Java Virtual Machines running in the same process caused an error." Anyone have a clue as to what I can do? I can no longer enter ANY Yahoo game room. This has happened with JRE version 1.6.0 (build 1.6.0_02-b05) and (build 1.6.0_02-b06).

Try uninstalling all the Java software, Runtimes, and plugins on your system and then reinstalling with the latest version of Java (1.6.0 update 2).
If that doesn't work, revert back to the last known version of Java that functioned with the game room.
I already did that. Problem continues. I even did a system restore to a point where i had no problem, yet I had the problem after the restore.

I was merely stating a possible fix. Besides, i also offered Solaris! So if I was trying to get him to use Linux, why would I also suggest an alternative?!

I thought you were just asking to see if they had access to full-strength encryption.
I tried on Mozilla Firefox and same problem. As I research the www, I see many have encountered the same problem, regardless of version of Java or operating system. It just seems to be an unexplainable bug. Some have offered "fixes" that worked for them, but they have failed for me. Grrrrrrrrrrr! ie. Start>Control Panel>Java>Java Applet Runtime Settings>Java Runtime Parameters...set parameter to 1/2 or 3/4 of RAM. Setting mine to 1/2 continued to fail 100% of time. Setting to 3/4 of RAM gave me entrance to the lobby to chat, but when I tried to start a game table I was promptly booted from the lobby!

it means years of buggy applets that wont ever die.
why dont you send yahoo an email about web start.
btw, the runtime parameter setting tried was -Xmx512M and -Xmx768M.
Cow, yes...I have the latest Java as stated above. And if people like yourself are able to get in, then why would I suspect it is a Yahoo problem? (snickers) And, ya think Yahoo would actally have a human read my query and forward it to tech support?..LOL..WOW! I am in contact with some that have no problem like I am experiencing which is why I do not suspect Yahoo.
in other words the problem is because Yahoo is using a buggy and out of date technology?

It's just you don't have clean/simple Java installation on your machine.
The yahoo game has no problem both on Linux and on Windows from my age-old(6 year) desktop machine with Java 6u1.

Well, I fixed it!!!!!!After removing some spyware and riskware, I discovered a Yahoo Messenger error message, so I removed/reinstalled Yahoo Messenger and IE7 and now I am back and at it again!

So here is my refined discovery: AdWare.Win32.NewDotNet is the culprit that served to cause the following error message: 1) JAVA Plug-in Fatal Error...The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded. 2) Several Java Virtual Machines running in the same process caused an error and 3) iexplore.exe error message (I forget the actual verbage on this one).After suffering for two weeks with the inability to enter any Yahoo games and very slow and buggy issues in both IE7 and Mozilla Firefox, a virus scan detected AdWare.Win32.NewDotNet, Adware.Win32.NewDotNet.e, AdTool.Win32.MyWebSearch, AdTool.Win32.WhenU, and AdTool.Win32.WhenU.a. I deleted all and also removed and reinstalled IE7 and Yahoo Messenger. I removed Messenger because I also got an error message relative to Messenger that I failed to write down. Anyway, everything worked great after that!!!! ...until I looked at porn again! I then got another error message "several machines running in the same process caused an error" while surfing the net in Firefox. A manual scan detected AdWare.Win32.NewDotNet had returned; I deleted and once again I am running with no problems. I had researched these error messages before I posted this concern and discovered many have suffered for a couple of years looking for the reason and for a solution. I hope this helps anyone who experiences the same problem. Live and prosper!
