I Finally Got Java Running (then I woke up) green as you get newbie here
It all happened so fast.I am a firm believer in" laughing to keep from crying" That said here's the deal.I had my drive formatted and re-install.Windows- me.I am not kidding iI really re-installed -me,and I wasnt even drinking.Well i discover i have jre 1.6.0.Did some checking and find out that j2se 1.4.2 would be best for my os.Well I get it and follow everything to the letter.I didnt have a .bat file so I wrote one like it said set path=%path%;C:\jdk1.4.2\bin.Then reboot and when I test it I get 1.6.0 and all the rest of that info not the jdk1.4.2 list.Deleted the .bat
file then wrote that into the .bak file got the same thing.Then I tryed the nt/2k method and ran msconfig >advanced>enviroment>set path and tryed to write a new variable/value but get a prompt saying that this value already exists.What is going on ?Sorry about the run on paragraph.Hoping for help..
