website problem

Hi,

I'm hoping someone here might be able to solve a problem I'm having. I became a member of the www.vox.com Blog site. Their site uses java. However some of the features will not operate. A box used to compose messages has no cursor, a drop down list does not drop down, and buttons don't function. I am not the only person who has this problem. Yet my laptop works fine on the site. My main computer which has the latest Sun Java update will not work on the site. I've contacted them, but they say they can't reproduce the problem.

In IE6 there are errors such as 'App' undefined, 'Arche Type' undefined, etc. Is there a problem with the java in my browser? I've tried changing Applet control to Microsoft, Changed security settings, still no good though. I haven't noticed any problems on any other website. Just theirs.

If anyone has any idea what it could be, I would be greatfull. I don't know much about Java scripting.

No solid advice, just some general troubleshooting...

-What are the differeneces between your laptop and main computer?

-Do you have any security settings that might block such code?

-Have you tried viewing the site with Firefox, or another browser?

-Send the site admin the specific details of your error messages, and what made them occur. If enough users are having this issue, they should get to fixing it.

Good luck

Another idea,In IE, click on Tools - Internet Options.Scroll down until you see "Java (Sun)".There should be a check box saying "Use JRE1.*"Try changing the value of that check box and restarting your browser.
