count link in google search

if i search any thing . google search many pages as result . i want to count that number of pages.means suppose i serach "what is java " in google.google give result various link in number of pages. i want to count how many pages google search as result.

That would be a neat trick, since google doesn't even count the number of pages. It just gives a VERY ROUGH estimate of number of hits it finds, thus the famous, "Showing results 1-2 of approx 1500" type messages you get. ~Tim
