If the DA increase user mail quota size then its not reflecting on user

Hi

one user is having 50mb mail quota

he was using webmail

after some time if he went on leave

take an example he went on leave one month

at that time he dont have mail access

if his mail box reaches to 99% then sender will get an error message saying that unable to deliver/Over quota

because his mail box is 99% full

if he is a critical user then the DA has increased his mail box size from 50mb to 100mb

after increasing his mail box still the sender has getting delivery failure

Hi,

There could be any number of explanations for this behaviour including LDAP directory replication issues, quota database problems, cache issues, software bugs etc. etc.

Try the following:

(check & fixes quota database issues)

./reconstruct -q

(initialises quota settings based on LDAP information)

./iminitquota -u <users uid>

Then check the users quota setting:

./imquotacheck -u <users uid>

Please in future if you ask any questions on this forum, always include the version of messaging server you are using (./imsimta version).

Regards,

Shane.

Hi

The version is

Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-7.05 (built Sep 5 2006)

libimta.so 6.2-7.05 (built 12:18:44, Sep 5 2006)

SunOS ms2 5.9 Generic_118558-37 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-880

Its impacting on all users and the user mail boxes are working fine.

Hi,

So "one user is having 50mb mail quota " has now become "impacting on all users".

Did you run the commands I mentioned above for a single user and what were the results?

Have you checked your LDAP server(s) to verify that the quota value has been changed/is correct?

You could also be running into bug #6542177 -> "mailuserstatus is inconsistent with the quota db" but running the commands I mentioned would have fixed/resync'd the quota database.

Regards,

Shane.

Hi

one user means - it as an example....

Yes, I ran those commands but still the same problem....

If i check LDAP entries, at there its changing to new value (100MB)

but the actual mail box size is not increasing ....

If the user logs into his mail box then only its changing to new value...

then only the user is able to receiving his mails.... other wise the sender is getting bounce back mail saying that user is over quota....

Hi,

I noticed that you had also opened up a Sun support case for this issue which had a lot of useful information that you failed to mention in the forum.

I have provided my feedback of the problem to the owner of the support case and will let them deal with it from now on.

Regards,

Shane.
