Transparent JTabbedPane

I originally posted this in the Swing forum, but apparently not many people that can help look there. My question is, how can I make a transparent JTabbedPane? I've set opaque to false on that and on the JPanel that I'm adding to it. Here is a link to my code: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5195942&tstart=0

Any help would be appreciated.

OK. So the Swing experts in the Swing forum can't help you. So you thought to repeat the question and ask nonSwing experts. That's very logical!

I repeated the question here because this forum is looked at more by swing experts and experts of all other areas. You never know when someone that isn't considered a "swing expert" may have the answer.

And what makes you think that all questions should be answered within 1 hour? Do you think all the Swing experts are just sitting around waiting for you to post a question so it can be answered in 5 minutes?

You got an answer in your other posting 2 hours ago but have yet to reply. So why don't you have to reply within 1 hour, if your expect us to answer the question in 1 hour. Don't you think we deserve a little time to respond as well?

I'm not trying to be rude, I have just had more luck in this forum. There is no need to post in such a rude manor. Yes, I hoped for a fast response, but doesn't everyone? There is no need to post sarcastic remarks, they don't help anyone.

Your expectations were a unrealistic and against forum etiquette. What type of answer did you expect?

Pete, that was a lot more diplomatic than my reply was going to be.

I was smart. I deleted my first reply.

Sure it does. It shows you the proper way to use the forum, since you apparently don't grasp the concept on your own.

Its extremely frustrating to spend time answering a question only to find out the same question has been asked and answered on another posting.

Assume you actually did get an answer on this posting. Well, I always start by reading the questions in the Swing forum first. There is no mention in that posting that the question has been cross-posted, so if I spent time answering the question it would have been time wasted.

Cross posters never think of their multiple postings and rarely bother to reply to both postings stating an answer has been given.

The forums are not about making your life easier. Its about making our life (we are the people donating out time to help you) easier.

You didn't even bother to post a SSCCE showing us the code you used. You stated that your code worked before adding the panel. Well, in the code I used it didn't even work in that situation, so it would have been nice to see your "semi-working" code. Maybe I could have improved on it if I could actually execute it.

My comments are not made randomly. They are made from years of experience.

Fine, you've all made your point. I apologize. I appreciate all answers I get and thank you all for your time. I'm sorry I'm not perfect.

This should have been reply #2 not reply #9. If you had apologised first up and not continued to argue and defend your actions, maybe people wouldn't have been so hard on you.
