Performance of "Mark all Threads as Read"

Has anyone else noticed that "Mark all Threads as Read" now takes less than a year to run?

No, I haven't noticed that.

Duke Stars, please ;-)

Yes I have. The general performance seems to be much better now. I always used to get sporadic Gateway Timeouts trying to get the stuff. It was sporadic, but it was everyday. Today, it hasn't shown up yet, and I've been checking stuff from time to time for about 5 hours already today.

I hadn't noticed, but then I was avoiding using it...

Oh, they have added a new feature so we can now see who gave us dukes... Sweet, someone gave me 10 for a silly answer :o)

I think all of these changes were supposed to be in that update last week when everything went offline. But didn't I see a message saying that an error occured and all changes had to be rolled back?

There was a message indicating a rollback had been performed because the update site showed evidence of 'instability'.

So nothing new there, they failed to get the roll back to work successfully.

Oh, I see you don't get any star at all when you are on 99 D$... They just keep coming up with new and interesting ways to get things wrong.

I just tried to award a duke to myself since there was a button on my last posting indicating that I could do so. When I pressed 'go' it just told me I could not award dukes to myself. I would have expected that the button should not have been visible. Do I expect too much?

This has been around for a long time. Same problem for 199, 499 and 999! I'll award you another duke.

There there - does that feel better now!

Failure to implement a rollback now thats an achievement. But the speed of the mark all threads option is definately an improvement. However its a shame that after 1 good fix many other bugs are found :-( Such is life eh ;-)

Well, I take all this back.As of today, it seems the performance is back to "normal" (i.e. "mark all ..." takes days and anything will, from time to time, return me a gateway timeout). Oh, well, it was enjoyable for about a week. We'll see how things continue.

Yep! Running like a dog again. Another triumph for Sun. I expect we will get the injection bug back next.

Do you mean the list you can reach via "My Duke Stars" that has been there for half an eternity? ("Duke Stars Rewards Program Account Summary")

No, I mean the new link that appears on that page that tells me who gave me the dukes, that has been missing since about 2003

The link has always been there for me. And yes, I've checked it since 2003. :o)

OT: I notice that CeciNestPasUnProgrammeur is on perma-feature status. What's it getting close to a year, now? :o)

Well I must be blind, because I've gone looking for who gave me dukes on occasion that I've noticed it going up.

I guess I can't blame sun for everything then
