can any body explain why we are going for Sun one Directory server than active directory .what are the advantages of Sun one Directory server than active directory .please let known the site where i can get docs on this.

Active Directory is a Network and OS directory service that is tightly tied to Windows and its services.
It is extremely difficult to use it for something else than authenticating Windows users, and extend the data stored in it.
Sun Directory Server Enterprise Edition is a general purpose, highly scalable, with high performance, very flexible and extensible LDAPv3 based Directory Service. It includes a Directory Server with Multi-Mastered Replication, Directory Proxy Server for load balancing, security and virtual directory services, ISW a user and group synchronization service with AD, and much more.
Sun DSEE is multi-platform, runs on Solaris, Linux, HP-UX and Windows. And is considered as the market leader in the Directory space.
